Pastoral ministry is often referred to as the care of souls, and the pastor is compared to a shepherd. Those who are ordained or commissioned to serve pastoral functions must be equipped to shepherd the flock of Christ with with wisdom, courage, and love. This responsiblity demands that Christian leaders be attuned to both the voice of the Holy Spirit as well as the particular needs and circumstances of those entrusted to their stewardship. Catechesis
The Christian life is a commitment to a lifelong formative process in the practices, narratives, and values of the Church.
